EXTRA MURALS
Although here at Jacaranda Montessori we offer a comprehensive school programme ,we do offer extra murals to enhance our children’s learning experience.
KIDI SPORTZ
This programme has been designed as a pressure release with an emphasis on fun, fun, fun! With the introduction of television and computers children have less time available to be exposed to play that involves gross motor co-ordination.
The Kidi-Sportz classes have been designed to assist children with gross motor co-ordination and muscle tone and help to lessen the affects of some of these problems.
POTTERY
Pottery Making enhances creativity, spatial intelligence and fine-motor skills development among children. It allows children to explore clay as a material. Children of all ages enjoy squishing, squelching, pinching, rolling, poking, stretching and pounding the clay.
Some children find this particularly soothing and it can be useful for releasing tension or frustration. Clay making is a fun way to introduce 3-dimensional art to children of all ages.
WEEKLY ACTIVITIES
NEWSDAY/ SHOW AND TELL – ROTATIONAL
Children are given an opportunity to share their weekend news with their peers. Leaners are encouraged to bring in something they have made to speak to their friends about.
SCINTILLATING SENSORY PLAY

KIDS IN THE KITCHEN
Children are invited to bring in eats (fruit, bread, cheese, vegetables) that we will prepare together in our kitchen to serve to their friends. A roster will be provided to assist parents in knowing when their child’s turn is.

Humairah became a qualified ECD practitioner in 2000, but not simply satisfied with teaching using traditional teaching methods she enrolled to study the Montessori Method at Wonderkids Montessori College in Durban in 2006.
During her teaching practice of her first year of studies Humairah impressed her principal, lecturers and supervising directress with her creativity, enthusiasm and dedication to helping children reach their full potential. TESTIMONIALS
Read some of the testimonials from people who have had the pleasure of working with Humairah and having first hand knowledge of her proficiency as a teacher.
Kindly be advised, Humairah Mahomedy Rangila, was a directress at the Wonderkids Preschool, for two years and a lecturer at the Wonderkids Training Institute, for four years.
She is a beautiful person who knows what she wants from life. In addition to raising a family and being a good wife, Humairah has always found time to get involved in life around her. Unlike many people these days, whenever she adopts a cause or pursues a new interest she is guaranteed to be highly committed.
I watched her take a deep interest in the lives of many of the children and adults around her. By example, Humairah has taught me not only the value of helping others, but the importance of loyalty and commitment.
I could continue with descriptions of her many other good qualities- her work ethic, her energy, and her creativeness to name three. Instead I would simply like to say how much I think of Humairah and how strongly I recommend her for any task that requires problem solving and a high level of commitment.
MARIAM AMRAAs a teacher, you know you’ve achieved something beautiful if almost a decade later, your pupil still remembers you with a smile and races to greet you.
This is Humairah Rangila.
After 9 years, my son Zaahid is still extremely fond of her. Not only is she an excellent teacher, she’s a guide, a mentor, a professional and she imbibes all the qualities necessary to be a fantastic educator! She’s kind, sweet and reassuring and deeply knowledgeable with regards to Montessori philosophy and early childhood practices. She motivated her students and inspired them to be the best, as a Montessori Lecturer.
And I am proud to call her my colleague as well as my friend!
AMINA SADERI had the pleasure of being lectured by Humiarah at Wonderkds Training Institute. From the the first day, Humairah impressed me with her ability to be articulate and concise. There was never a lesson that Humairah was unprepared for. To say that I would {highly} recommend Humairah as a lecturer, is an absolute understatement. I would recommend, encourage, force and shove her down the proverbial throat if need be.
Humairah is incredibly passionate, enthusiastic and down right marvelous. Her patience and perseverance with us, her students, went far beyond the classroom. Her many years of experience coupled with her vast knowledge of early childhood development resulted in an incredibly knowledgable lecturer, who doesn’t stop once the pages of the textbook has closed.
When faced with a dilemma in the classroom, I find myself sifting through my mind thinking, ‘What would Humairah do?’ I have yet to come across an Educator as insightful, engaging and focused as Humairah. Whilst we proved to be sometimes {most times} difficult as students, Humairah strived under the pressure and not once did she deter from her goal. Hurairah’s determination has resulted in producing Educators that think out of the box, that are aware of every student in their care and undoubtedly fueled the passion within us.
It was an honor and privilege to have been taught and guided by Humairah. I have NO doubt that she will head an incredible school and change the lives of every child in her care.
